Tewksbury Changes School Schedule To Make Up Snow Days

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Barring anymore blackouts, snow storms or other calamities that would close schools, Tewksbury students will finish the school year on June 22. The good news that's earlier than a lot of neighboring towns, some of which have had to schedule Saturday sessions and will still be going to school as late as June 29.

The bad news is that to finish by June 22, school officials had to cancel early-release days on May 3 and May 25 and make them full days. The May 25 date stings the most, as that is the day before the three-day, Memorial Day holiday weekend. Many families have, in the past, used the half day to get a jump on their weekend getaways.
