Tewksbury Halloween 2020: What You Need To Know

The town is setting recommended hours and encouraging residents to take care not to spread the coronavirus.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury officials are planning to leave the decision on whether to trick-or-treating up to residents, Board of Selectmen Chair Jay Kelly said at the Board's Tuesday meeting.

The town does not have by-laws related to Halloween. The Board voted to set 6 to 8 p.m. as the recommended trick-or-treating hours, as usual.

"Everyone's wearing a mask anyway, so we might as well get them out there," Selectman Mark Kratman said.

Kelly spoke to the town manager and the health director abut the risks and the officials concluded the protocols already in place should suffice. Those include mask-wearing, social distancing and regular hand-washing.

"If people don't feel comfortable, they can simply turn off their lights," he noted.
