Tewksbury Library To Host 15 FREE, FUN Holiday Events
The Festival of Trees Opening Night Gala is set for Saturday, December 7.

TEWKSBURY, MA – The Tewksbury Public Library is holding its Annual Festival of Trees Opening Night Gala on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 6pm to 8:30pm. The Library, located at 300 Chandler Street, promises a fun, festive night for all ages.
This free evening of holiday entertainment will include:
- Nearly 50 Christmas trees and wreaths on display throughout the building. Each is decorated by a local non-profit, school, church, business or town department.
- A Holiday Family Concert with performer Jeannie Mack at 6:15pm. Come sing and act out songs about making snowmen, twirling around like snowflakes, sledding down hills, and drinking hot chocolate.
- A Production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ from the Delvena Theatre Company at 7:30pm. Enjoy this award-winning retelling of the Charles Dickens classic, complete with Christmas music and period costumes.
- Letters to Santa
- Scavenger hunts for all ages
- Cider and cookies from the Friends of the Tewksbury Library
- A ‘Taste of Tewksbury’ Tree – featuring gift certificates from local restaurants – will be raffled off by the Friends of the Library, as will two handmade quilts.
The Gala is sponsored by the Library’s staff, Board of Trustees, and Friends of the Library, along with support from the Tewksbury Cultural Council. No registration is required for the Gala -- drop in anytime during the 2.5 hours.

The Library will also be hosting a sensory friendly Festival of Trees viewing on Sunday, December 15, 2019, from 11:30am to 1pm. Enjoy a quiet time to view the trees, enjoy refreshments, and participate in a scavenger hunt for families with members who are sensitive to sensory overload and/or are on the autism spectrum. - Thursday, December 5, 7pm: Lessons Learned From ‘A Christmas Carol.’ Motivational speaker Dustin Pari takes the timeless Dickens’ classic and explores the underlying themes & the dynamic relationships of the characters. Register HERE.
- Monday, December 9, 7pm: Christmas On Broadway. Enjoy an evening of Broadway music, Christmas sing-a-longs, door prizes, & a special appearance by Santa, featuring Esmerelda Clump (Carol Anne Robitaille). Register HERE.
- Tuesday, December 10, noon: Don’t Get Ripped Off This Holiday Season. Learn how to best utilize all of the Better Business Bureau's free programs and services to help make more educated and informed consumer decisions. Led by Amy Schram, BBB Community Relations Manager. Register HERE.
- Tuesday, December 10, 7pm: Holiday Concert with the Merrimack Valley Chorus. After headlining our Festival of Trees Opening Night Gala for several years, the Merrimack Valley Chorus returns for another one of their popular a cappella holiday concerts. Register HERE.
- Wednesday, December 11, 11am: Holiday A Cappella Carolers. Sing along to your favorite holiday songs set to beautiful three & four-part harmony and revel in the holiday cheer with carolers from the Community Music Center of Boston! Register HERE.
- Wednesday, December 11, 6pm: Holiday De-Stress For Teens. Stressed about the holidays? Overwhelmed with school, sports and more? Join us in a relaxing space to color, unwind and pet therapy dogs. Grades 6-12. No registration required.
- Thursday, December 12, 7pm: Learn The Basics Of eBay This Holiday Season. Discover how to make some cash from unwanted gifts & de-cluttering before or after the holidays. Led by certified eBay Educational Specialist Robbin Levin. Register HERE.
- Monday, December 16, 3:30pm: Teen Gingerbread Cookie Decorating. Hungry for creativity and some friendly competition? Come by to decorate your own gingerbread cookie. All supplies will be provided. Space is limited. Registration is required. Grades 6-12. Register HERE.
- Tuesday, December 17, 7pm: Holiday Concert with The Gentlemen Songsters. The Gentlemen Songsters, the Lowell chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, promise a wonderful evening of a cappella holiday music. Register HERE.
- Wednesday, December 18, 7pm: A Victorian Christmas Show: A One-Woman Play. Travel back in time to Christmas 1895 with Victoria Yule (actress Anne Barrett) as your hostess. Register HERE.
- Thursday, December 19, 7pm: The History of Christmas in New England. Enjoy an illustrated lecture tracing the development of the celebration of Christmas in the area from the 17th century to today. Led by Historic New England’s Ken Turino. Register HERE.
- Saturday, December 21, 9:30am-4:15pm: Multi-Generational Holiday Celebration. Make gifts for your loved ones, watch some classic holiday movies, enjoy delicious snacks, and wrap your gifts! There will be gift wrapping all day. Supplies will be provided by the library. Visit the library’s online calendar for the day’s lineup of films and activities. - Monday, December 30, 2pm: FROZEN Party And Sing Along! With the new movie out, children are invited to enjoy a Frozen-themed party with crafts, snacks, and a movie sing-along! No registration is required for the party.
