In this lively interactive workshop, learn effective key strategies that will support you in: A clear path to what you are moving towards, moving beyond and unlocking self-limitations; Explore powerful perspectives that support your interviewing and networking process; Inspire out-of-the-box thinking, new ideas, and the ability to follow through and accomplish your desired goals using your skillset/talents/nature; Expand your awareness and insight, allowing for purposeful action; Learn how to “get out there” and create and grow your resources and network; Techniques in how to stop being a passive observer while actively engaging and taking initiative; and Getting in touch with how deeply you want to succeed and make a difference. Monday Evening Book Group: The Good Lord Bird

Join us for a discussion of The Good Lord Bird by James McBride. Henry Shackleford is a young slave living in the Kansas Territory in 1857, the region a battlefield between anti and pro slavery forces. When John Brown, the legendary abolitionist, arrives in the area, an arguement between Brown and Henry's master quickly turns violent. Henry is forced to leave town with Brown, who believes Henry is a girl. Over the next months, Henry conceals his true identity as he struggles to stay alive. He finds himself with Brown at the historic raid on Harper's Ferry, one of the catalysts for the civil war. Books are available at the Front Desk one month before the discussion. All are welcome!

The Armchair Travel Mystery Book Group Discussion

Do you love a good mystery? Join the library's newest Book Club, "The Armchair Detectives!" The group will be discussing Scot Free by Catriona McPherson. Lexy Campbell fell in love and left her native Scotland for a golden life in California―hitched to a hunk, building her marriage counseling practice, living the dream. Six months later she's divorced, broke, and headed home. There's just one last thing. Lexy's only client―sweet little old Mrs. Bombarro―is in jail for murdering her husband with a fireworks rocket. Lexy knows the cops have got it wrong; all she needs is a few days to prove it and somewhere cheap to sleep at night. PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK: ‘Feeble’ Stones: Graves of the Disabled and Mentally Ill in Massachusetts

Discover the history of how people with disabilities and mental illness were treated in the Commonwealth, and then explore, through photographs, their final resting places, with a focus on the cemeteries of two state institutions in Massachusetts -- the Walter E. Fernald State School and the Tewksbury State Hospital. Led by Ashyln Rickord, historian and board member of the Public Health Museum. PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK: Tour of the Public Health Museum

Come explore the Public Health Museum in this special guided tour. The Museum preserves records and artifacts from our nation’s public health history while educating the public about the achievements and contributions of public health. There are exhibits on Tuberculosis, Polio, Patent Medicines, Dentistry, and much more. While visiting the Museum, you will also see the remarkably preserved 1930s Works Progress Administration (WPA) murals which highlight the industries of Massachusetts. Meet at the Museum, located on the grounds of the Tewksbury State Hospital, behind the library. (It's best to enter off of East Street.) Limited to 20 spots. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Tiny Tykes Story Time

For young children ages 0 to 18 months. Older siblings are always welcome to join in! Join us for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, instruments, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Please note, we have 2 sessions that are the same, one is at 10:15am and the other is at 11:00am.
Wiggle Time

For 2 year olds (ages 18 months and up). Get your early literacy skills on with stories, songs, movement, instruments, dancing and more! No registration required, HOWEVER, there is limited space in the room. Please check in at the Children's desk upon arrival to grab a token and ensure there is space in the story time.
