Tewksbury Job Seekers Network: Living An Intentionally Designed Life

Have you ever dreamed of doing something and never accomplished it? Have you ever noticed that your response in challenging situations is not what you want it to be but you are not sure how to change it? Do you sometimes begin projects and not see them through? If you can answer yes to any of these questions then this talk is for you! In this presentation, you will be introduced to a life-changing concept, Life Design, which shows participants how to create a more vibrant and committed life and unleashes the power of who you are and what you want to be and do in the world. SPRING CONCERT SERIES: Sliding Around The World with The Solstice Sackbuts

Monday, April 29, 7pm

Take a vacation for the night as the Solstice Sackbuts, a trombone trio, bring you on an international tour of folk and pop music from around the world. No passports are required while your toes tap to sambas, tangos, tarantellas, polkas, horahs, waltzes, jigs, calypsos, as well as rock, jazz and some of the world's most famous and popular music. Dressed in colorful international garb, the Solstice Sackbuts will transport you to Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Haiti, France, England, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Russia, the Czech Republic, Israel, Kenya and other destinations while playing lively and very familiar selections, along with humorous and educational narratives about the origins of music of many cultures. GARDENING WEEK: Organic Gardening 101

Just what is organic? While there is much talk about the benefits of organic gardening, there is also a great deal of confusion about what exactly this means. We will discuss what is or is not meant by organic gardening, how organic standards apply to the home gardener, and what organic techniques you can most easily employ in your own gardens. Led by Kathi Gariepy, a Lifetime Master Gardener with the Massachusetts Master Gardener Association, past president of the Attleboro Garden Club and past chair of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts’ Gardening Study School. Kathi is a Landscape Design Consultant and on the Gardening Study Council. She has worked as lead teacher for the Massachusetts Horticultural Society and education coordinator for MassAudubon. The Armchair Detectives Mystery Book Group: The Cuckoo's Calling

Do you love a good mystery? Join the library's newest Book Club, "The Armchair Detectives!" The group will be discussing The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith. You may think you know about the wealthy and famous, but you've never seen them under an investigation like this. Introducing Cormoran Strike, this is the acclaimed first crime novel by J.K. ENVIRONMENT WEEK: Beyond Plastic Bags: Reduce, Reuse And Recycle For A Better Planet

The Town has made an important step in improving the environment by passing a plastic bag ban, yet there is still a lot more that each resident can do to improve the environment by cutting down on waste. Julia Greene, Municipal Assistance Coordinator from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection will lead a discussion on what waste is, how to cut down on it, and how to recycle correctly. Julia will give practical advice on how to reduce, re-use and recycle in your day to day life that really makes an impact on the environment. GARDENING WEEK: Gardening with Herbs

Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood's newest DVD releases -- Mary Poppins Returns, a family comedy starring Emily Blunt. The film received 3 Academy Award nominations. Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael's children through a difficult time in their lives. Rated PG. 130 minutes. Doors will open at 12pm. ENVIRONMENT WEEK: Environmental Short Documentaries Double Feature

Enjoy a screening of two short documentaries on the environment. Straws (33 mins) spotlights plastic straw litter and how we can make a sea of change one straw at a time. Facing the Surge (26 mins) examines the costs of sea level rise in Norfolk, VA, a community on the frontline of climate change. Tiny Tykes Story Time

Monday, April 29, 10:15am AND 11am

For young children ages 0 to 18 months. Older siblings are always welcome to join in! Join us for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, instruments, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Please note, we have 2 sessions that are the same, one is at 10:15am and the other is at 11:00am. There is no registration, HOWEVER, there is limited space in the room. Please check in at the Children's desk upon arrival to check to see if there is still room available in the session.

Commemorate the Battle of Hogwarts with a screening of the movie that started it all - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone! Watch as Harry finds out that he is actually (*gasp!*) a wizard, and delve into his first year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This movie is rated PG. Children must have parents with them at all times.

Star Wars Day

Come celebrate Intergalactic Star Wars Day at the library! Star Wars scavenger hunt on the 1st floor from 12pm-4pm. Star War Universe trivia from 12pm-4 pm. Screening of The Last Jedi in the Meeting room from 2pm-4:30 pm. Open to Jedi of all ages!
