Tewksbury Job Seekers Network: Defining Your Personal Brand

This presentation will answer the question: What is a personal brand, why do I need one, and where can I get one? The talk will include a description of all the branding components, and how to frame the content of these components to your own purpose. Led by Randall Warniers, freelance editor, book designer and book publisher who spent nearly two decades in the world of publishing as managing editor of a research journal at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He is also a photographer and a photography instructor at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, an instructor in 19th-century British literature at Acton-Boxborough Community Education, and a facilitator and member of the leadership team at Acton Networkers. Film Screening of ‘Dawnland’ and Q&A with Director

View a film screening of Dawnland, a documentary about cultural survival and stolen children. For decades, child welfare authorities have been forcibly removing Native American children from their homes to “save” them from being Indian. In Maine, the first official “truth and reconciliation commission” in the United States begins an unprecedented investigation. Dawnland goes behind-the-scenes as this historic body deals with difficult truths, questions the meaning of reconciliation, and charts a new course for state and tribal relations. After the screening, Mishy Lesser, Ed.D., the learning director for the Upstander Project and Education Fellow at the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center at the University of Connecticut, will facilitate a discussion about the film. Lesser developed the teacher's guide for Dawnland. The Armchair Detectives Mystery Book Group: The House Of Silk

Do you love a good mystery? Join the library's newest Book Club, "The Armchair Detectives!" The group will be discussing The House of Silk: A Sherlock Holmes Novel by Anthony Horowitz. The House of Silk bring Sherlock Holmes back with all the nuance, pacing, and almost superhuman powers of analysis and deduction that made him the world's greatest detective, in a case depicting events too shocking, too monstrous to ever appear in print....until now. Tiny Tykes

For young children ages 0 to 18 months. Older siblings are always welcome to join in! Join us for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, instruments, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Please note, we have 2 sessions that are the same, one is at 10:15am and the other is at 11:00am. There is no registration, HOWEVER, there is limited space in the room. Please check in at the Children's desk upon arrival to check to see if there is still room available in the session.
