Police said the man was located Wednesday afternoon and is safe.

UPDATE: Police said the man was located Wednesday afternoon and is safe.
Police Chief Ryan Columbus released the following statement regarding the incident:
Today, (01-08-25) we were well into a 2-hour search for a person who wandered away from an adult care center located at 1390 Main St. We had additional concerns about this individual being missing due to the extreme cold weather without proper attire. We deployed all available assets which included K-9’s, a Drone, the NEMLEC Regional Search Team, and the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing.

We sent out a code red alert and shared this on our social media accounts as well. A concerned citizen called 911 after seeing our social media post and receiving a code red alert as he spotted this individual walking on Andover Street near Greenmeadow Drive. This could have been a very different outcome had this person not been located due to the extreme cold weather.
I am extremely proud of the quick action by our supervisors and officers as well as the help from our community. One of our best assets is the public and we cannot do what we do without you.
