Tewksbury Man Wanted In Armed Robbery: Police

A man is accused of holding up a Tewksbury gas station last week with what appeared to be a gun, police said.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Police are searching for a man accused in an armed robbery.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 11:18 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Shell gas station at 1975 Main St.

An investigation found that a man brandished what appeared to be a gun at gas station staff and demanded that they open the cash registers.

The suspect took about $200 in cash from the registers and about four to five packs of cigarettes, according to police.

No one was injured.

Police identified the suspect as Michael Moran, 46, of Tewksbury. Moran is known to Tewksbury police and has active warrants out for his arrest in other jurisdictions, police said.

Police searched Moran's home and said they found a BB gun and clothing matching surveillance footage from the crime.

Police also searched the gas station area and found a gun believed to be used during the armed robbery.

Moran was charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and larceny under $1,200.
