Tewksbury Officials Investigate Anonymous School Hazing Claim

School officials don't know who sent the note or when the hazing and bullying allegedly happened.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The writer of a letter sent to the Tewksbury School Committee last month claims her sons were bullied and hazed at a Tewksbury Memorial High School football camp. The writer did not provide a timeframe for when her kids were abused, only saying that they had graduated. School officials are investigating the claims, according to the Lowell Sun, which first reported this story.

"Hazing is something we obviously take very seriously," Superintendent Christopher Malone told the newspaper. "It doesn't appear we have any information or anything indicating, outside of this letter, that we have anything like this going on in any way."

While the parent who sent the anonymous letter claims there "is a lot of concern" about the issue, Malone said the school system had received no other complaints. In the letter, the parent said she sent it anonymously to "protect the integrity of the Tewksbury School system."
