Tewksbury Playgrounds To Reopen Saturday, Fields Open Monday

Many of the town's outdoor recreation areas have reopened, with limitations.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Playgrounds will reopen in Tewksbury Saturday, according to phase two coronavirus reopening guidance released by the town. Fields opened Monday.

Phase two of the state's reopening, which includes outdoor dining, childcare and retail, began Monday.

Some of the town's outdoor recreation areas are already open, including tennis and pickleball courts and walking paths and trails.

Other sports courts and fields opened Monday, but only games that allow social distancing, like tennis, are permitted. Basketball, football, baseball and soccer, among others, require close contact and thus organized play is not permitted.

Playgrounds and the fitness court reopen Saturday, but adults are expect to ensure children maintain proper distancing and wear face coverings.
