Tewksbury Police Arrest Man Following Shooting, Shelter In Place
Police arrested a 19-year-old Tewksbury man Friday night following reported gunshots and a shelter in place order.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury Police arrested a 19-year-old Tewksbury man Friday following a report of shots fired and a "shelter in place" order to the public. Police say that Raymond Dauteuil fired an illegally-owned gun, hit multiple buildings and shot at someone who confronted him. That person shot at was not hurt, according to the release.
Dauteuil was charged with illegal possession of a loaded gun and multiple counts of assault with intent to murder, firing a gun within 500 feet of a dwelling, unlicensed ammunition possession, malicious destruction of property and possession of a class c drug.
Police went to 75 Algonquin Drive at 8:16 p.m. Friday following a report of gun shots. Police called people out of the house, and three exited. Police learned from them that Dauteuil was firing a gun, but it was unclear if he was in the house or on foot in the neighborhood, according to a news release.

Other area police agencies responded and police issued a shelter in place order to residents around 9 p.m. The regional S.W.A.T. team arrived and noticed movement on the second floor of the house. The S.W.A.T. team arrested Dauteuil.
With a warrant, Tewksbury police searched the home and found a loaded gun. A preliminary investigation suggested the gun was an untraceable "ghost gun." It is unknown how Dauteuil got the gun, police said.

Dauteuil is being held without bail and undergoing a mental health evaluation. His arraignment is set for Monday at Lowell District Court.
Tewksbury Police Detectives were able to secure a search warrant for the home and located a loaded firearm inside. All evidence was secured with the assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Unit and Ballistics Section.
