Tewksbury Police Arrest Man, Woman On Firearms Charges

Maureen Roddy, 33, of Salem, NH allegedly purchased guns and gave them to Clifford Lawrence, 34, of Lowell.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Police arrested a woman from Salem, NH and a man from Lowell on firearms charges Thursday. Maureen Roddy, 33, of 4 N. Main St. Salem, NH was charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, improper storage of a firearm, and possession of a class b substance (cocaine). Clifford Lawrence, 34, of 133 Chestnut St. Apt. #3, Lowell, MA was arrested on warrants for armed assault to murder, and violation of an abuse prevention order (3 counts).

Tewksbury Police said an investigation found that Roddy has recently purchased multiple firearms in New Hampshire and allegedly gave them to Lawrence. Lawrence was also charged with a firearm violation with 1 prior violent crime, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and improper storage of a firearm.

In a statement, police did not provide details of the arrest, only to say that the two were apprehended without incident. Roddy was scheduled to be arraigned in lowell District Court Friday. Lawrence's arraignment was scheduled for Friday in Lowell Superior Court.
