Tewksbury Police Bid Farewell To Special Companion
Geox had been partners with Officer Al Piccolo since 2012 and was the third dog trained by Tewksbury Police.
TEWKSBURY, MA -- Geox, the German Shepard that served as the Tewksbury Police K-9, died Monday after a sudden illness. The department announced Geox's death on its Facebook pages, prompting a flood of condolence posts by residents and officers from other law enforcement agencies.
Geox and Officer Al Piccolo were partners for six years, the department said. Among Geox's headline-grabbing work was the 2012 arrest, where he ran down a suspect who fled from his vehicle during a traffic stop. Geox was the third dog to be trained by the departmentand was frequently called on by other area police departments to aid in investigations.
