Tewksbury Police Department Welcomes New Patrolman

The newest addition transferred from the Marblehead Police Department and joined the department Monday.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury police department is welcoming a new officer that transferred from the Marblehead police department.

Patrolman Michael Maccario joined the ranks of the Tewksbury Police Department Monday after over two years with Marblehead police. He was sworn into the department on Oct. 3.

"We have extremely high hopes and expectations for Officer Maccario and are confident that he will represent the highest standards of modern law enforcement and the finest traditions of the Tewksbury Police Department," read an announcement from the Tewksbury Police Department."The future of the Tewksbury Police Department just got brighter."

Maccario is a 2014 graduate of the Reading Police Academy, and holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Salem State University. He also has specialized training in the areas of fair and impartial policing, eyewitness identification, response to domestic violence calls, opiate awareness and prescription drug crimes.
