Tewksbury Police Help Catch NH Fugitive
George Spates has been wanted for several months on outstanding warrants in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested a Londonderry, NH man Friday at the Extended Stay America hotel on Andover Street. George N. Spates, 31, of Olde Country Village Road in Londonderry, was wanted on seven counts of being a fugitive from justice, as well as charges in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Spates had been wanted for several months when the Mashals Service received a tip he was staying at the hotel. Spates was outside and fled when he saw police and Marshals approaching. He was arrested after a short foot chase.
Spates was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court. In New Hampshire, the charges against Spates included habitual traffic offender, stalking, habitual harassment offender, identity fraud, receiving stolen property, witness tampering, burglary, and a parole violation. His Massachusetts charges include larceny of a motor vehicle, malicious destruction of property and trespassing.
