Tewksbury Police to Host Coffee with a Cop Event

The event aims to build relationships with community members and police officers.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The relationships between police and the communities they serve have taken national spotlights in recent weeks, and departments across the country are seeking ways to further community relationships.

The Tewksbury Police Department will be taking part in National Community Policing Week by hosting Coffee with a Cop, an event which aims to build relationships and bring police officers closer with community members. The community is encouraged to bring forth any questions or concerns, or to come get to know some of the officers.

According to the police department's announcement, the key to the event is that it "opens the door for interactions outside of the crisis situations that typically bring law enforcement officers and community members together."
