Tewksbury Police Investigating Broken Window On Apache Way

Social media posts about the incident suggested the more serious crime of home invasion had taken place Monday afternoon.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan confirmed that police were indeed conducting an investigation on Apache Way on Monday, but they were not looking into a "home invasion," as had been initially reported and widely discussed on a Facebook group for residents. Sheehan said a homeowner reported a rear, second-floor slider had been smashed at the home but there was no evidence that the suspect had entered.

"We are still working the investigation and have collected some physical evidence at the scene but this was never a home invasion," Sheehan said. "The homeowner was not home at the time the slider was smashed and no other occupants were present."
