Enjoy a concert from one of New England's top Elvis performers, Rick Anthony. Don't be Cruel. Put on your Blue Suede Shoes, and get All Shook Up! Elvis is coming to the library. Rick Anthony is a dynamic entertainer zoomed into big-time entertainment practically overnight. Born in Lawrence, Rick began paying tribute to the late Elvis Presley for audiences when he was 14 years old at a school lip-sync contest. He borrowed an Elvis style jumpsuit, a terrible wig, and took home 1st place. He decided to use his own theatrical talents and studied the voice and energetic performance style of Elvis to create his own high-quality performances. Through the years, Rick has achieved many awards and performed for audiences throughout New England, Florida (including Walt Disney World), Canada, and as far east as the Azores, Portugal.

IN PERSON: English Conversation Group with English At Large (*RR)

English At Large will be running an English Conversation Group in Tewksbury this summer. Conversation groups are groups of 8 -12 adult learners who meet weekly for 90 minutes to practice English speaking and listening skills. All groups are free! Registration is required. Groups are in person and are for adults who speak English at an intermediate or advanced level. You should be able to have a conversation in English. Conversation groups are not classes. Volunteer facilitators focus on listening and speaking.

The MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center is returning to Tewksbury! On Wednesdays beginning July 1, the Mobile Career Center will be parked outside the library from 10:30AM-2:30PM to help job seekers. The MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center is a mobile bus unit that has been equipped with solar panels to power workstations within the bus to allow for Career Center services to hit the road to all of our local communities, cities and towns. It will provide information on: Career Services; Current Training Programs; Job Search Events; and Hiring Events. No registration is required. In the event of severe weather, the event may be cancelled or cut short.

In this training, we break down common myths, explore how the media shapes public opinion, and uncover the real impact of harmful messages. With facts, research, and real-world context, we’ll cut through the noise and focus on the language and actions that truly support the inclusion of LGBTQ+ people.

Enjoy a discussion of The Road to Unfreedom: Russia, Europe, America by Timothy Snyder. A forceful and unsparing work of contemporary history, based on vast research as well as personal reporting, Snyder goes beyond the headlines to expose the true nature of the threat to democracy and law. The Tewksbury Community Market takes place on Thursdays, from 4pm to 7pm, from June 4, 2026 to September 24, 2026, in the parking lot behind the Tewksbury Recreation Center at Livingston St. Park (288 Livingston Street). The market has 70 vendors overall, with 30-35 vendors present on any given week. Each week's lineup of vendors is listed on the Market's website. VIRTUAL: The History Of The Beach Boys

If summer had a sound it would be the Beach Boys…surf, sun and California dreaming. This presentation will focus on The Beach Boys “sunniest” years from 1962-1967. With the use of performance and interview clips, trace the arc of the Beach Boys’ early career from “Surfin’ U.S.A”., “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “California Girls” to the more mature Pet Sounds, “Good Vibrations” and the abandoned Smile project. Surf’s Up! Led by music historian Gary Wenstrup, who -- after a rewarding career in advertising sales -- retired and developed courses on the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Motown Records for the Continuing Education Department of College of DuPage. He has also lectured at over 200 libraries on 20 different music related subjects including artists ranging from Elvis Presley to Fleetwood Mac and The Rolling Stones to Willie Nelson. Besides being featured on radio broadcasts and in newspaper articles, Gary is the co-host of the popular podcast "Classic Rock Album Olympics."

Before the echoes of gunfire at Lexington and Concord had faded, American rebels and the Crown were plotting and vying for control of the Hudson River. This crucial passageway was considered key to transporting men, weapons, food, and morale from the Canadian and Northern Departments to the South. Delve into the construction of the river, as well as the people and politics trying to control it. Led by author and historian Kiersten Marcil.

The Smithsonian Museum -- on the Federal Mall in Washington, D.C. -- is often referred to as the “Attic of America.” Composed of nineteen independent buildings, it is crammed with thousands of treasures that will unlock countless memories for all. Explore the Smithsonian Museum of American History. See Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers, the mask of the Lone Ranger, the actual Star-Spangled Banner that was the inspiration for Francis Scott Key, Air Jordan’s sneakers, Jackie’s Inaugural gown, the eyeglass case that saved Teddy Roosevelt’s life and much more -- each of them with a wonderful story, just waiting to be told. Led by avid traveler and library lover Mary Maguire. A graduate of Brown University, Maguire worked for 38 years for the New York City Board of Education, where she created programs for teachers on how to integrate the arts into language art, science and social studies curriculums.

The merging of two of the great performing arts, that of dance and film, has resulted in some of the most memorable moments in the history of American cinema. Stars such as Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Eleanor Powell, Gene Kelly, the Nicholas Brothers, Cyd Charisse, Rita Hayworth, Ray Bolger, and Vera Ellen have created a vast array of outstanding dance sequences that have continued to enthrall moviegoers right up to the present day. Relive some of these classic numbers from the “Golden Age” of Hollywood and greater appreciate the means by which many superb actors, choreographers, and directors have melded their talents with spectacular results. Led by Rich Knox, a retired school teacher and administrator, who lectures on musicals, films, and opera to libraries across the country.

IN PERSON: Family Story Time

Join us for stories, songs, movement, instruments, dancing, and more for the whole family. Get your early literacy skills on! All of our story times are interactive for children and their caregivers. Please be ready to participate and play. Don't worry, we will have a printout with all of the songs and rhymes we are using so you can follow along! This story time session runs every Monday from June 22 to August 10 (excluding unexpected illnesses). You can drop in one week, every week or however works best for your schedule. Stories will be geared toward babies and toddlers, but we can all enjoy listening! For children birth - grade 5 and their families.

Preschool playgroup is a weekly group where kids can meet, play, and learn. Pick up STEM and early literacy skills, and have some fun while you're at it! Sponsored by Community Teamwork Inc's Family Resource Network. The Family Resource Network is funded by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant (CFCE) from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

Join Mill City Grows in planting out the garden at the Tewksbury Library! Kids will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty while planting both seedlings and seeds. We will talk about all of the things plants need to grow big and strong while looking at a wide variety of veggies to put in the garden for future harvest! Please meet us in the community garden behind the library at 3:30pm. Don't forget to wear your sunscreen! This event is for children in grades 3-5.
