Are you a writer -- or an aspiring writer -- looking for some support? The Tewksbury Writing Group is open to everyone who's interested in writing -- all genres, all skill levels. Each meeting -- which will take place via Zoom -- features a guest speaker (typically a published author or editor) offering some tips of the trade. The June 2026 guest speaker is author Alyssa (A.D.) Metcalfe. A.D. Metcalfe brings the gritty streets of 1970s New York to life in her STREET series—a raw, immersive journey through violence, loyalty, and identity. With unflinching honesty and vivid characters, A.D. Metcalfe crafts the story of Johnny Álvarez and the Dogs of War: a teenage gang forged by trauma and bound by brotherhood. What began in STREET continues in STREET BROTHERHOOD —where survival isn’t enough, and the cost of vengeance comes due. Metcalfe currently lives on a small farm on Cape Cod, where she is Vice President of the Cape Cod Writers Center and a member of Grub Street. She is also a host and co-producer for Books and the World, the longest-running literary interview program in the country.
