Tewksbury RB Named a Patch 'Player of the Week'

Tewksbury , MA – We're only two weeks into the football season, but some athletes have already emerged as standouts on the gridiron.

Veteran high school sports reporter Bob Holmes dropped his list of Patch players of the week Monday, and Tewksbury's junior running back Will Matovu made the cut .

Holmes highlighted the junior's performance in Tewksbury's handling 21-0 handling of Methuen.

Will Matovu, Tewksbury -- Coming into the year there were a lot of candidates at running back for Tewksbury, but no clear standout. That may have changed after the junior back ran for two second-quarter touchdowns in a 21-0 shutout of Methuen.
