Tewksbury Reports 35 Active Cases, 10 At State Hospital
The town reported just six cases, Oct. 13, but the lull in the town's outbreak proved brief.
TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury reported 35 confirmed coronavirus cases and four probable cases, Thursday. Ten of the cases were at the State Hospital, the first significant number at a long-term care facility in months.
According to town-by-town data released by the state, Thursday, the town remains a moderate-risk community.
The town reported just six cases, Oct. 13, but the drop in cases proved brief.

The four probable cases are community cases, as are the other 25 confirmed cases.
Probable cases are those that meet some combination of clinical, epidemiological and presumptive laboratory evidence without a confirmatory lab test.

Since the virus arrived in Massachusetts in March, Tewksbury has had 760 confirmed cases, including 78 deaths.
