Tewksbury Restaurant Served Underage Alcohol; 5 Arrested: Cops

The Andover Street restaurant was checked out following a citizen complaint.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A server and four young men who couldn't wait a bit longer for their drinks were arrested in an alleged underage alcohol incident at an Andover Street restaurant.

Police investigated the Chopsticks restaurant following a complaint by a concerned citizen that individuals under 21 were being served alcohol. Officers conducted a compliance check and came upon four young men with alcohol who could not produce identification.

Wo Hui Mei, 55, of Boston was arrested for selling alcohol to a person under 21. The four men, ages 19-20, from Billerica, were all arrested for being a person under 21 possessing alcohol. (Want more Tewksbury news? Of course you do! Subscribe to Tewksbury Patch.)

Mei did not ask the men for identification, police said.

The case will be sent to the licensing authority (Town of Tewksbury Board of Selectmen) for administrative action.
