Tewksbury Santander Bank Robbed, 2 Suspects Arrested

Tewksbury police arrested two Methuen residents following a bank robbery, Tuesday. One is a suspect in several other bank robberies.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Santander Bank at Livingston and Main Street in Tewksbury was robbed, Tuesday morning, Tewksbury police said. The department arrested two Methuen residents as suspects in the robbery.

The robbery was reported shortly before 10 a.m.., Tuesday.

According to the police narrative, police were given the description of a white Ford Ranger pick-up truck, and were able to find the truck on Shawsheen Street, near Dascomb Road, with the help of witnesses.

Nicholas O'Neil, 37, and Sara Diaz-Lebel, 36, both of Methuen, were arrested and currency was seized from the vehicle, police said.

O'Neil is a suspect in several other bank robberies, police said. The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force also responded.

North Reading police said later Tuesday that O'Neil is also being charged in relation to an Aug. 25 bank robbery in North Reading.

O'Neil was charged with unarmed robbery and possession of crack cocaine and had outstanding warrants for unarmed robbery, shoplifting and other drug offenses. Diaz-Lebel, who was driving, was charged with unarmed robbery.

Both are due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court, Wednesday.
