  • The MVP grant program provides technical and financial support for cities and towns across the Commonwealth to plan for, and mitigate the impacts from, climate change.
  • The HMP update secures the Town’s FEMA grant program eligibility. The HMP involves identifying the risks and vulnerabilities associated with natural disasters, and developing long-term strategies for protecting people and property from future hazard events.

By completing this project, Tewksbury will be eligible for federal FEMA Grant programs, as well as state MVP Action Grants for the implementation of climate adaptation projects.

The Tewksbury MVP-HMP project objective is to create a list of priority action items to advance the community’s resilience. In January, a group of stakeholders met to identify strengths, vulnerabilities, and recommendations for next steps. The pre-recorded video provides the results of this session and other project work that informed the draft MVP-HMP Report. After watching the video and reviewing the draft report, please consider providing feedback through an online survey. The survey will be available from April 7th to April 24st, and the feedback from this survey will be captured in the final MVP-HMP report.
