Tewksbury-Wide Lemonade Stand? For Child Cancer Research, You Bet

What would it take for a town-wide lemonade stand? A great cause and motivated business leaders.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A town-wide lemonade stand? For the right reason, it's a possibility.

Discount Madness is hosting an Alex's Lemonade Stand to benefit childhood cancer research on Saturday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at its Tewksbury location at 1325 Main Street. Manager Brad Cerullo is hoping he isn't alone in hosting the stand.

Discount Madness has sold paper lemons and held lemonade stands each of the last three years in an effort to raise funds for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. To date, Discount Madness has raised almost $8,800 for ALSF. (Subscribe to Tewksbury Patch or like us on Facebook for more local, lemony news.)

Local businesses have helped out in the past by donating items for raffles, but this year Cerullo is eyeing a different type of help. He wants local businesses to all hold their own lemonade stands at the same time in an effort to raise an ambitious goal of $25,000.

"My vision is to have all of Main Street littered with lemonade stands all the way from Wilmington to Lowell, all of us working together as a community to raise money and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer," Cerullo said.
