Tewksbury Woman Charged With Medicaid Fraud
Dawna DeMarco allegedly continued to submit time sheets for reimbursement months after her aunt died.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- A Tewksbury woman submitted false time sheets as part of a scheme to defraud Medcaid of more than $10,000, according to an indictment filed by the Massachusetts Attorney General's office. Dawna DeMarco, 33, of Tewksbury, was charged with Medicaid false claims and larceny over $250 after for continuing to submit for reimbursements for care for her aunt months after the woman was hospitalized and died in October 2016.
According to the indictment, DeMarco was hired as a personal care ad for her aunt. She allegedly submitted time sheets for hours she did not work beginning in September 2016 and continuing through April of last year.
DeMarco pleaded not guilty in Middlesex Superior Court and is due back in court on Oct. 4 for a status hearing.
