The TYSL Boys U9-2 team beat a tough Somerville team 2-1 to move to 5-2-1 for the season.  James Ministeri had another first half shut out and Mihir Bagul played solid as well allowing just 1 goad which came with less than 3 minutes remaining in the game.  Both goal tenders were helped by a continuation of season-long solid defense effort from Cole Duffett, Owen Griffin, Conor Moynihan, Justin Murphy, and Benny Svendsen.  Drew Timmons played a great all-around game with stifling defense and moving the ball well on offense.  Lucas McFadyen scored early in the 2nd half to put the team ahead 1-0 and Logan Teixeira made it 2-0 a short time later to close out the scoring for Tewksbury.

Tewksbury’s BU10-2 tied Malden 3 to 3 in their last game of the year. Evan Zonderman got the scoring started when he stole the ball away from the defense and found the back of the net.  The second goal of the game was scored by Tewkbury’s goalie Greg Sencabaugh who kicked the ball out of his goalie box the length of the field and the ball was misplayed by Malden goalie, WOW! Jack Kenneally, Tyler Demers, Max Cummings Alec Solok and Sean Mason had some great shots on net but none found the back of the net.

In the second half with Greg playing forward he scored to tying the game with his second goal of the game.  Alec Strangmen, Chris Melo, Andrew Eringis, and back from a long foot injury Sean Sears all played solid on defense throughout the game, thank you boys and enjoy your winter sports.

Scoring 18 Goals and only giving up 6 on the season.

Girls U12-2 Tewksbury 4 Chelmsford 1

Completing an undefeated Fall season Tewksbury's U12-2 Girls topped Chelmsford 4 to 1. Tewksbury's record is 6 wins, no losses, and 3 ties. Lizzy Gallella scored the first goal of the game on and assist from Julia Massotta. Massotta later scored on a fantastic rebound of her own shot off the crossbar. Stephanie Baptiste showed her ability to dominate a game as she was all over the Chelmsford defense. After several near misses Baptiste assisted on Becky Giles' goal with a brilliant cross pass. Devyn Veits had a great game on defense and added a late goal to put the game out of reach. Christine Santos had a great game from the sweeper position cleaning up anything Chelmsford attempted. Hailey Mignon played the entire game in goal despite being under the weather. Emma Scopa and Cassidy Grunning played well both on defense and forward. Erin Gallella was her usual dominant self at midfield peppering Chelmsford with her heavy shots all game. Emily Chmela and Samantha Regan were also their usual solid selves

Tewksbury GU12-3 Tewksbury 3  Wilmington 1

The girls from Tewksbury have a lot of reasons to feel good about their season but there was still one more challenge ahead of them as they travelled to Wilmington for the finale.  Wilmington won the toss and kicked off but the ball was quickly intercepted by the defense and sent ahead to forward Tatum Pecci.  She made a quick move and tapped the ball to Sarah Ciampa who finished with a strong left foot shot past the unsuspecting Wilmington keeper.   Tewksbury kept the momentum going with a lot of pressure deep in the Wilmington end thanks to the great midfield play of Britney Bourassa, Emily Langone, and Becky Reynolds.  Wilmington developed a few scoring chances but keeper Vivi Bain was fast and aggressive in the net as she stifled their attacks.  The defense of Maeve Moynihan and Emily Milne was outstanding as they challenged the attackers and jumped forward to intercept the Wilmington passes.  Wilmington did manage to get a ball in and during the scramble the attacker went down for which the referee awarded a penalty kick.  Wilmington was able to make good and equalize the score 1-1 at the half.

The second half was all Tewksbury as Tatum Pecci and Brittany Malfa pushed the ball deep into Wilmington territory forcing them to give up several corner kicks.  Katie Famiglietti found herself sprinting down the left side with the ball and pulling the defense over to challenge her.  She sent a nice pass across to Brittany Malfa who took a touch then shot it cleanly into the Wilmington net for the go-ahead goal.  The play continued to dominate the Wilmington end of the field and Nicole Bennett was in the right place when a loose ball travelled into open space.  She ran in from her defensive area and smashed the ball in a high arc right into the net and out of reach of the Keeper.  Vivi Bain seemed to be everywhere at once supporting the offense and recovering on defense.  Emily Langone faced a few scoring chances but she was rock solid and held Wilmington scoreless in the second half.  Tewksbury finished on a strong 3-1 effort (and a 2nd place tie in the division) and showed a tremendous amount of individual improvement at every spot on the roster.  Congratulations girls on a great season.

GU12-5 Tewksbury 0 vs. Medford 1

Madeline MacMullin had some unbelievable saves in net as Tewksbury fell to Medford in a tough contest with a final score of 1-0 Medford.  Jordan Garber played terrific defense and was able to clear the ball and block numerous Medford attempts.  Alyssa Theodos exhibited her usual hustle and footwork breaking up Medford plays and successfully bringing the ball up for Tewksbury throughout the game. Emily Satterfield, Sarah Yoken and Alexis Nichols made numerous shots on goal but were thwarted by a talented Medford keeper.  Amanda Satterfield and Samantha LaLonde continued to demonstrate great defensive hustle while Molly Hodgson had some outstanding stops as goalie in the first half.  Erin Coulter and Brigid Voto were able to move the ball offensively but all in all the team fell in an extremely close match.  The Tewksbury girls ended with a winning season and showed terrific growth throughout the fall.

GU13-1 Tewksbury  7 Medford 1

The girls ended a great season in a commanding win against Medford.  Kayla Makooi got 1 of her 2 goals early in the first half from a nice pass from Emily Sessa.  Sessa then scored 2 unassisted bombs followed by Makooi’s second goal on a nice pass from Kayla Devlin.  Then Maddy Wescott scored unassisted to make the score 5-0 at the half. The Redmen controlled the game the entire first half and Sam Mercurio was untested in goal as any ball that came into the defensive end was easily handled by Victoria Mirabito, Caroline Picariello, Kelly Fortier, Dainelle Carrigg, and Sam Surowiec.  The second half started and the scoring continued with Sessa’s 3rd goal on a corner kick to earn a hat trick and Devlin scored on a nice shot from the 18.  Wescott then took a shift in goal and Mercurio moved to forward   Wescott allowed one goal but had no chance as the shot sailed high over her head.  The midfielders controlled the tempo of this game.  Allison Piracini, Priya Vijay, and Karina Crowley all worked hard and kept the ball in the Medford end of the field.  The team finished 7-1-1 in a 3 way tie for first place.

GU14-1 Tewksbury 2  Melrose-2

The girls ended the season with a rare afternoon game in Melrose on Saturday.  The girls came into this game on a roll winning 3 games in a row.  Early in the first half Aria Porzio took a cross from Ashley Colarusso and deposited it into the net for a 1-0 lead.  The score stayed that way until the half despite the fact that the Tewksbury offense was controlling the game.

The midfielders in this game were intense Estelle Penta, Megan Braciska, Karalyn Gallella, Karah Chaisson all having multiple scoring opportunities only to see shots just miss or saved by the keeper who was busy all day.  The forwards of Emily Velozo &  Erin Dwinell chipped in with chances as well.  Despite the girls dominating the play up and down the field Melrose managed to take a 2-1 lead by scoring on two long goals that just found the way over Janina Kennedy (who despite the two fluke goals was steady) into the top of the net. (one was a direct kick)

The defense and stopper was steady as always, Michelle Farraher continued her great play in the middle, with help from her friends Samantha Parker, Haley Pozzuto, Nicole Malfa and Taylor Donahoe.  Sara Catanzano went the distance in this one continuing to be the anchor of the team with her incredible play at the sweeper position.

Some tie games feel more like wins and with about 2 minutes left in the game Aria Porzio netted her second off a scrum in front of the Melrose goal to ensure a tie.  With about 30 seconds left Michelle Farraher intercepted a pass and made one last mad rush but the girls could not get it by the keeper.

The girls finish the season 4-4-1 after being 1-4 at one time and have really come together as a team.
