Badgers: 22 vs. Cardinals: 21
The Badgers won a nail-biter this week with an exciting, last second win, that was a back and forth battle all game. The girls will looks to continue with their swarming defense and great team play for their last regular season game on 2/20. Scoring for the Badgers: Fiona Green (13), Alex Fowler (7), and Caleigh Shanahan (2). Outstanding defensive efforts from Alyssa Gray, Emma Hiltz, and Lindsey Lombardo, and excellent rebounding from Mariya Ortiz.

Jayhawks vs. Huskies
The Girls In Town Basketball program held week 10 this past weekend and the Jayhawks hosted the Huskies. The Jayhawks were having a tough time in the 1st quarter hitting the basket but did land 1 from MaryKate Callinan (5 points total, 4 blocks, and 6 rebounds) on the day. In the 2nd quarter the Jayhawks had 3 players hit some basket, Jordan Gardner (2 pts, 3 steals, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks), Brianna Iandoli (2 pts, 4 steals) and Maisan Nguyen (2 pts, 6 steals, 3 rebounds). At the half the game was tied 8-8. In the 3rd Quarter the Jayhawks went to the foul line 3 times and Saddie Basile hit 1 as well as Kayla Mirisola hitting 1 which were key points the team needed to keep the Jayhawks in the game to start the 4th. In the 4th, Erin Mclntyre played hard on both sides of the ball, had 4 steals, 2 rebounds. The Jayhawks are looking forward to the next game.

Eagles: 24 vs. Cougars: 28
The Eagles lost to a tough Cougars team on Saturday 28 to 24. They got behind by 10 early, but fought back to make it a 1 point game entering the 4th quarter. Catalina Burke, Rose Strobel, and Hannah Kocsmiersky did a great job at the guard position of slowing down the Cougar offense. The rebounding effort of Megan Boudreau and Alyssandra Ragusa was outstanding. The Eagles scoring came from Allie Indingaro 15, Amanda Moreira 5, and Jaclyn Dillon and Alyssandra each had 2.
Wolverines vs. Wildcats
The Wolverines hosted the Wildcats in their tenth game of the season and came away with a victory. Alyssa Marchelletta led all Wolverine scorers with 8 points in the game, followed by Abby MacAllister and Jessica Hickey (6 each), Lexie Bobotas and Olivia Paulding (4) and Emily Walker (2). The Wolverines also displayed solid teamwork and passing throughout the game with Paulding contributing 3 assists followed by Marchelletta, MacAllister and Nicole Potito (2) and Brooke Woodman, Hickey and Walker (1). Defense and rebounding keyed the Wolverines’ victory with MacAllister collecting 5 rebounds, Sarah Hunt, Hickey and Paulding (4), Woodman, Bobotas, and Potito (3). Marchelletta led the team in steals with 7, followed by Paulding and MacAllister (3), Walker and Bobotas (2). Marchelletta and Bobotas each also had 2 impressive blocked shots in the game.
Senior
Sonics 39, Spurs 33
The Sonics held off a late surge by the Spurs to win their 6th game of the season. Rebecca DeFrancesco led all Sonic scorers with 12 points. Additional points were provided by Marissa Ladderbush (9), Alexa Harrington (8), Julia Cafferty (4), Amber Buttaro (2), Molly O’Neill (2), and Janine Richardson (2). Alicia Barbati provided the much needed defense to prevent some easy baskets while grabbing some key rebounds. Brooke Fullerton continued to excel on the offensive and defensive ends chasing down the loose balls. This exciting win was the result of solid team play exhibited throughout the game.
Junior
Storm: 23 vs. Rockers: 9
Storm is back on the winning side again after a 23-9 victory of the Rockers. Excellent team play on both sides of the floor for Storm as six players scored. Leading the team in scoring was Dakota Malizia (7 points, 3 rebounds), Brooklyn DeGrechie (4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 Steal), Madelyn Montejo (4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), Skylar Auth (4 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals), Darya Mehrabani and Emily Tryder each had 2 points. Jocelyn Kinnon and Cassidy Paige played exceptional defense causing multiple turnovers which helped the offense lead to baskets. Ashlee Moreira and Lucy Malfy has some key rebounds at the end of the game to secure the win. Final regular season game next week – hope to see you then!
