Enjoy a screening of the locally produced documentary, Days of Division. Examine Lowell’s recent civic-civil war over the location of Lowell High School, as told through the lens of both Downtown and Cawley supporters as they fight for accessibility and the best education for the students. The screening will be followed by a special discussion led by filmmaker Raysam Donkoh-Halm. Doors will open 30 minutes early. Candy and bottled water will be served. Author Visit: Lessons From A 4,000-Mile Walk Across America (*RR)

Author Andrew Forsthoefel ("Walking to Listen: 4,000 Miles Across America, One Story at a Time") will discuss the power of listening and share what he learned after walking across the United States for 11 months with a sign on his back that read “Walking to Listen,” recording interviews with the people he met along the way. Andrew co-produced a radio documentary about this project that was featured on "This American Life" and Transom.org. Q&A and book selling/signing to follow. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Teen Baking Challenge: Cupcake Creations (*RR)

Our first team baking challenge! You'll be split into two groups to see who can make the best cupcake creation! There will be an hour and a half to plan, bake and decorate your cupcake designs. This program is open to teens in grades 6 through 12. Register HERE.
