It took a little while for the to figure things out on Wednesday, but once they got organized, the Redmen fashioned an impressive and exciting come-from-behind win, 3-1 over  North Andover in the season's opener for both teams.

Senior hitter Allie Luppi took charge in that set, putting down five of her team leading 12 kills. With the score tied 17-17 senior Alina Rosmarinofski went on a serving spree scoring four straight service
points.  North Andover pushed back ahead but junior middle hitter Jenn Iannacci came up big with three big blocks, to help Tewksbury
tie the score at 23, and junior middle hitter Kelli Sugrue made some key blocks and hit well out of the middle to lead the team to the decisive final two points and a 25-23 win.

Set three was just as close as set two, as the lead changed numerous times before the Redmen pulled out a 26-24 win to take command of the match.
Sugrue, Luppi and Rosmarinofski made some outstanding attacks in the third set, while senior Libero Grace Carew,  senior Lindsey McQuesten and junior Alyson Mulloy kept digging
North Andover's outside hitters. Senior setters Liz McVey (15 assists, 4 kills) and Jess Bridle (3 kills, 8 assists) were able to control the pace of the offense.

The two close set wins gave the Redmen the momentum and they capitalised. Strong serving from Mulloy and Luppi and great hitting from Luppi and Sugrue helped the Redmen build a big
early lead and close out the victory with a 25-18 fourth set win.

Tewksbury, 1-0,  opens its home schedule Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. against Notre Dame Academy.
