Tough Defense Lifts Tewksbury 4th Graders Past Wilmington

Rossetti leads Tewksbury to 24-20 win.

Tewksbury shined on Saturday, Jan. 29, showing their resilience and perseverance, pulling off a 24 to 20 win over Wilmington at Lowell Catholic.

The team really came together with great passing throughout the game, highlighting their teamwork. Starting a great game with an 8-0 run, the team’s pace was set by Kyle Rosetti.  Kyle’s superb ball handling, ability to find the driving lane, and great passing allowed Richie Markwarth and Nick Larson to sink a couple of easy baskets early on.

Tewksbury stayed on top throughout the first half with excellent efforts being made by the whole team, with continuous accurate passing, shots sinking, and stupendous defense by all.  Quick defensive moves by Trace Trant and Chad Boschetti kept the ball in our possession.

Andrew Maresca and Kyle lead the team with 6 points each.  Zach Tyler and Richie continued to show terrific offensive skills scoring 4 points each. Mike Rosenberg and Nick scored 2 points each to help the team to capture the win.

The score was close the whole game, with Wilmington pulling ahead in the second half.  Tewksbury kept their composure down the stretch, setting picks, blocking shots, and causing turnovers.  The defense was charged by the incredible rebounding efforts of Lucas Frost, Jared Rizzo, and Mike.

The offense was highlighted with perfectly executed picks by Derek Schumaker.  The team made some key plays, breaking the press in the last 25 seconds, allowing the boys to seal the game.
