UPDATED: Train Sparks Multiple Brush Fires Along Tracks
Fires are burning all along the railroad tracks from Shawsheen Street to the power company road.

Multiple brush fires burned in Tewksbury Monday night along railroad tracks, caused by a freight train just before 8 p.m. Just before 8:30 p.m. Tewksbury Fire requested a second alarm due to the fires.
A sparking freight train is said to have possibly started the fires along the railroad tracks from Shawsheen Street to the power company road. The fires are in the area of the Market Basket warehouse, Bella Woods townhouses and all along East Street crossing through the lumber yard and up to the power company.
There was heavy fire in the area of the Holt & Bugbee lumber yard on Shawsheen Street, as well as smaller fires all along the tracks from East Street to the power company.

The train is now at the power company.
Tewksbury Fire Chief Michael Hazel told the Tewksbury Town Crier the fires were likely caused by a carbon buildup in the stack and that the train would be towed out of Tewksbury.
