UPDATED: Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Rounsevell Road Home
Water issues made fighting the fire difficult for first responders.

The Tewksbury Fire Department was on the scene of a two-alarm fire at a home on Rounsevell Road for several hours Monday into Monday night. The fire was reported to be gas-fed.
The fire started just after 4 p.m. Monday at a home located at 85 Rounsevell Road and quickly went to two alarms. A request for another engine has been made and Wilmington sent one to the scene to assist.

The house is said to be a total loss.
Tewksbury is having water issues. Wilmington’s pump is acting as a pumper and the hydrant they are hooked up to is not viable and there is no other hydrant nearby.

At one point, the home’s gas meter was and threatening neighboring structures.
There were no reports of any injuries.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. heavy fire conditions had all companies ordered out of the building. Reports from the scene say the fire is gas-fed and the meter is involved and that the roof is completely compromised. The roof has since partially collapsed.

Just before 5 p.m. another engine was requested, North Reading now on scene. Gas is also being shut down. National Grid also en route to shut down electricity.
