Two Arrested in Tewksbury Drug Bust

Police arrested two men after witnessing a drug transaction in Tewksbury Monday.

TEWKSBURY, MA—Two men were arrested after officers witnessed a drug transaction on Andover Street in Tewksbury Monday, police announced Wednesday.

Police arrested Jeremy Gable, 28, of North Andover for distribution of a class e substance (gabapentin), possession with intent to distribute a class e substance (gabapentin), unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop for police. Joseph Gallant, 28, of Amesbury was also arrested for possession of a class b substance (buprenorphine) and possession of a class e substance (gabapentin).

According to Police, Detectives witnessed a transaction on Andover Street and discovered that Gable sold pills to Gallant, and that he also possessed additional pills. Police also stated that Gable did not stop for police when signaled.

According to the Mayo Clinic, gabapentin is used as a seizure-control medication in the treatment of epilepsy. Buprenorphine is a medicine commonly used to treat opioid dependence or addiction,according to the Mayo Clinic.

Both were scheduled to be arraigned June 21.
