The Board of Directors of the Friends of , Inc. convened for their Annual Meeting and the initial Executive Meeting on Feb. 23.

There are two league options that are being considered. The Northeast Junior High League, which Tewksbury is currently a member, may join with the Seacoast League and is one option, while the Cape Ann Youth Football League is the other option. Both leagues are similar in structure.

The board is awaiting a merger decision from the NJHF League and a decision from the Cape Ann League on our application to join their organization. As a contingency plan TYF will restructure the existing program into two In-Town Divisions, and continue to play in the NJHF League with the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams for 7th and 8th graders.

Registration will be held in late March in the hopes that the board will have a clearer direction on both leagues. Much research and discussion has gone into making this decision, and we thank all the parents who participated in our Open Meeting earlier this month to discuss this issue.

It is our goal to make our league a positive experience for all our players and cheerleaders.
