Tewksbury Boys U13 -1 (10), Dracut U13 (4)
The Tewksbury Boys Lacrosse U13-1 put on a second dominating performance in as many games, in this young season. The opponent this week was Dracut with the local boys coming out on top 10 -4. Putting forward an impressive performance in goal was Patrick Hunt who was backed up by a strong defensive trio of Kevin Carta, JP Mooney, and Ben Connors.
They stepped up to the challenge with some regular defensive players missing from the game and kept Dracut’s results to a minimum. The offense came from many players showing a complete well balanced team performance. Nick Diminico and Brendan Sjostedt both led the way with 2 goals each, assisted by Chris Lucas’ sharp passing from behind the net. Nick Muise, Drew Fletcher, and Lucas each added to the Tewksbury tally with one unassisted goal each.

Jimmy Strickler assisted on another score as he found an open Shawn O’Neil who put it into the Dracut net. Muise was not only scoring, but he fed Ethan Hepler who beat the Dracut goalie for yet another well executed goal. Kevin Carta rounded out the scoring for the team as he took the ball from his defensive position down the field and scored unassisted. It was a well played clean game with minimal penalties as Tewksbury used their skills making sharp passes, and gaining ball possession all over the field to capture a solid second victory.

The Tewksbury’s Boys U15 - Team 1 recorded a win during the first home game of the season. It was a decisive win, but it came at the expense of personal injuries. Starting midfielder Matt DiFelice suffered a broken leg during the first quarter of the game and will be out for the balance of the season. Matt has been a dominant player in the center midfield position.
The remainder of the game was played in his honor. Late in the game starting defenseman Henry Roberts injured his hip after two scores and a tremendous three quarters of solid defense. Even with these setbacks of the team’s two seasoned starters, they overcame them with a solid performance on offense and defense. Captains for the game were Scott Pastorello and Henry Roberts. Tewksbury’s defense was anchored by Garrett Christopher, Ryan Cunningham, Henry Roberts, and goalie Jake Marchant.
Michael Lirakis had a shining performance for his first action of the season, causing many turnovers and moving the ball up the field. The offense seemed to score at will and spread the goals among five players. David Dempsey lead the assault with (3) goals - a hat trick – followed by Grant Callanan (2), Pat O’Brien (2), Henry Roberts (2), and Mark Gorman (1). Justin LaCau, Jack MacMullin and Michael Baker stepped up their stick handling and passing skills in a strong display of offensive control. TJ Contalonis and Joyce Connor played a tough defense, protecting their end of the field well and returning the ball quickly to their offensive zone. It was a job well done by all.
