Victim In Tewksbury Motorcycle Crash Identified

The father of two died on the day before Father's Day after his motorcycle hit a car on Main Street in Tewksbury.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The 59-year-old man killed in while riding his motorcycle Saturday morning was the married father of two. William J. Barnes, of Tewksbury, died from injuries sustained when his motorcycle hit a car on Main Street on Saturday. Barnes was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital by helicopter, where he was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon.

The 21-year-old Wilmington man driving the 2009 Chevy Impala that Barnes hit was not injured in the crash.

Barnes is survived by his wife, Patricia, his son Joshua of Malden and his daughter Sarah of Tewksbury. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home at 16 Lee Street in Tewksbury. A memorial funeral mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church at 1351 Main Street (Route 38) in Tewksbury.
