Score: Exeter West 8 Tewksbury 6

Tewksbury Red Pride Division 2 played in a quagmire on Sunday. Tewksbury moved the ball on its first and second possession but came up short at the end zone. Then Aaron Whitehouse connected with Brett McAllister for a 35 yard touchdown pass to make the score 6-0. The defense of Blake Schumaker, Cameron Carmichael, Matthieu Fortier, Tyler Ward, Michael Monahan, Jonathan Mooney, Colby Nowak, Billy Tamboli, Tyler Ward, Patrick Wild, Aaron Whitehouse, Caleb Iversen and Brett McAllister had a big stand in the 2nd quarter.

Tewksbury received the ball to start the second half and took over 7 minutes off the clock but just could not get in the end zone. Starting the 4th quarter, Tewksbury had a lead of 6-0 when they made one mistake and gave up a big run down to the 3 yard line and Exeter West scored 2 plays later. Billy Tamboli then returned the kickoff back for a touchdown only to get called back on a penalty. Tewksbury then had trouble moving the ball quickly down field due to the rainy weather. Tewksbury lost a tough one 8-6.

Team: Division 2 Junior Varsity

Score: Tewksbury 20 Exeter West 8

Tewksbury JV had a big day on Sunday winning 20-8 over Exeter West. QB TJ Taddia started the scoring with a 20 yard boot leg up the left side for a touchdown. Matt McLaughlin then scored on a 4 yard run to make the score 14-0. Mohammed Yatim finished the scoring on a tough 14 yard run to finish the scoring for the Red Pride. Rafael Perez who was just moved to nose guard had a monster of a day making several tackles in the backfield. Tewksbury JV beat Exeter West 20-8.

Team: Tewksbury Red Pride A

Score: Tewksbury Red Pride A 20 Dover West 0

Tewksbury's 5th/6th grade Red Pride keep rolling with big wins over Dover West. The Red Pride Varsity team got things going with a 20-0 win over Dover. The offense was off and running from the first whistle. Brandon Winn found the end zone 3 times on the day. The first coming on the second play from scrimmage with a 30 yd TD pass from Cody Sughrue. Winn then added TD runs of 65yds and 28yds to cap off his stellar day. Cody Sughrue added the extra point on Winn's TD rec. Making it possible for Winn was the Red Pride's offensive line led by Nick Heinze, Jarod Mason, Sam Fortier, Zack Frontain and Jackson Deroche. Not to be out shined was the Red Pride's defense who for the third straight week has not allowed a point. The defense was led by great tackling from Giovanni Ciampa, Jake Durant and Johnny Spinelli. Cody Sughrue capped off the day with an INT to close out the game and improve the Red Pride's Record to 3-1.

Team: Tewksbury Red Pride B

Score: Tewksbury Red Pride B 36 – Dover West 6

The Red Pride's JV team picked up right where their Varsity team left off scoring on the opening kick-off with a 60yd return by Josh Sughrue. Sughrue then punched in the extra point on his TD. After a quick three and out by the defense the offense came out blazing with a 30yd TD run by Kyle Zervas on the first play from scrimmage. Sughrue then added his second extra point of the day. On their next series Sughrue again took the game into his hands and ran in his second TD for the day. Zervas added the extra point. Wanting to get in on the action was Trace Trant who found the end zone from 3yds out after a 54yd run on the previous play. Zervas added another extra point. Finishing off the day was Kyle Zervas darting through the middle of the defense for a 30yd TD run. The defense was able to hold Dover all day getting the ball back into their offense's hands. Leading the way for the defense was Brandon Rosa who had an INT, Anthony Medeiros, Jack Kelly and Dylan Bock. At the end of the day the JV improved to 3-1 on the season with a 36-6 victory.

Score: Tewksbury Blue Pride A 14 Portsmouth Clippers 38

The Tewksbury 5/6 Blue played at home against the Portsmouth Clippers on Saturday, 01 Oct 11. Jesse Lamarca had two touchdown runs in the game for the "A" team. The boys came up short losing the game by a score of 38 to 14. The game was close and well played heading into the 2nd half before Portsmouth opened up a heavy passing attack. The defensive line did a very good job stopping the running backs for the Clippers.

Score: Tewksbury Blue Pride 0 – Portsmouth Clippers 0

In the "B" game, the boys dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The final score was Tewksbury 0 and Portsmouth 0. The defense played an outstanding game by holding the Portsmouth team to 0 points. They had been averaging over 20 a game. The offense moved the ball up and down the field but could not get it into the end zone. The coaches would like to thank everyone for cheering both teams on and big thanks go out to the cheerleaders.

Team: Comanche

Score: Comanche 6 Wamesit 7

The Comanche team knew today was going to be a tough battle against the Wamesit. They knew that after giving the Wamesit their only loss of the season that it would be a battle and that is what happened down at the fields on Sunday, a defensive battle for the entire game. The Comanche defense shut down the Wamesit for 3 ½ quarters coming up with big plays throughout the game. Andrew Farrell, Sean Fahey, Liam Macdonald and Ryan Keane all had huge days on Defense. The Wamesit drew the Comanche Defense off sides to gain a 1st down late in the 4th quarter and keep their drive alive. From there they went on to score their only touchdown of the day and ultimately went in for the extra point going up for the first time of the morning. The Comanche Defense had an excellent day with great plays from Colin Fullerton, Billy Chase, Colin Bozek, Matt Rosemond, Lucus Tryder and Kevin Carey. All players played with heart today making it an exciting game to the end. The Comanche Offense played well against the Wamesit Defense coming up with the only touchdown by Billy Chase. There was some excellent blocking behind Andrew Farrell, Lucus Tryder, Aaron Connelly, Ryan Keane and Colin Bozek all keeping the defense out of the backfield for the day. The game came down to the wire and the Comanche team came up short. They played a great game with great intensity, enthusiasm and excitement. They all had fun even with the loss they kept their heads held high. They would like to thank the Comanche Cheerleaders for cheering them on during the game and the parents for supporting them this season. They look forward to playing the Mohawks next Sunday.

Score: Wamesit 7 Comanche 6

The Wamesit stretched their winning streak to three with a hard fought 7-6 victory over the Comanche. The win sets up a first place showdown next week with the Cheyenne. Once again, the defense lead the way holding the opposition in check the entire day with the exception of one big play. Santino Garofalo was a major force as usual. Paul Manzi, Zach Hines, Matt Brennan and Nicky Iannacci also made some big tackles throughout the contest. The defensive line was anchored by Mike Woodford, Robbie Kimtis and Jack Meuse-Sitar and they simply refused to yield any ground. Jason Elias, Felix Navarrete, Jake Forgione, Aidan Hartman and Aidan Crogan all pitched in as well.

 After a scoreless first half, the Wamesit found themselves trailing by 6 with the clock ticking down. But as in past weeks, the Wamesit were not fazed. With 5 minutes remaining, Kyle Darrigo was able to break through with a 15 yd TD run to tie the game. The drive was kept alive by the hard-nosed inside running of Matt Houghton. With the game on the line, Gavin Thomasset brought the offensive line to the ball and they worked as a unit to give Darrigo the space he needed to find the goal line for the extra point. From there the defense returned to the field to finish the job turning the ball over on downs. With the victory, the Wamesit improved their record to 3-1 on the season. Winn, Rose Souza and Dede Somerville have been working tirelessly to cheer the team on all season and their hard work is greatly appreciated

Team: Mohawks

Score: Cheyenne 6 Mohawks 0 (In overtime)

What a match up! The Mohawks and the Cheyenne brought their A game today. The game was highlighted by an impressive defensive battle everywhere on the field. The mighty Mohawk’s defensive line, Antonio Capelo, Ryan Day, Bobby O’Hearn, Harry Walsh and Asa Derache, came on strong with many tackles and several sacks. The speed and agility of Shane Aylward and Patrick Letourneau were critical to the defense in making chasing tackles down the field. Richie Markwarth, Danny Flemming Shane Alyward, and Aiden Doherty played strong in the line backer positions, making key stops and tackles. Mark Bradley and William Rosato were in position, assisting the defense. What a defensive battle, the game could have gone either way. On offense, lead by Aiden Doherty, first time QB, the Mohawks moved the ball down the field, just short of making touchdowns, getting within the one yard line. Shane Alyward, Patrick Letourneau, Richie Markwarth and Aiden Doherty ran the ball down the field, but unable to push it in. Patrick Flemming, Antonio Capelo, Ryan Day, Aiden Leffler, Danny Flemming, Justin Flynn, Steven O’Hearn, Tyler Paulding, Lexi St Cyr, and Cameron Loder held the offensive line keeping the Cheyenne out of the backfield. With no points scored in regulation, the game was thrown into overtime where the Mohawks came up short, losing 6 to 0.

Score: Wamesit 12 Mohawks 6 in Over Time

In an unseasonable heat of near 80 degrees, the Mohawks played a hot, rough game against the Wamesit. The defense of both teams showed up ready to play, blocking and tackling with not much yardage being made by either side. Early on, Wamesit was able to find a hole in the Mohawk defense, scoring the Wamesit’s only 6 points in regulation play. The Mohawk offense was out of sync most of the game, which made it difficult to move the ball downfield. The Wamesit touchdown went unanswered until the final play of the game. The Mohawks showed their opponents their ability to execute a perfect play late in the game, by working as a team, focusing, and never giving up. The offensive line cut a path through the tiring Wamesit defense, allowing QB Shane Aylward to drive up the side line. Good lead blocking by Richie Markwarth, Aidan Doherty, and Patrick Letourneau, along with the solid offensive line, of Antonio Capelo, Asa Derache , Daniel Fleming, Bobby O’Hearn, Patrick Fleming, and Aiden Leffler resulted in the clean execution. The spirit and soul of the Mohawks brought the game into overtime. After a long game, the Mohawks came up short in the end with Wamesit taking advantage of Mohawk penalties, punching it into the end zone, taking the win in overtime.

Score: Cheyenne 20 Mohawks 13

Last week, the Mohawks started out with a tough lost. The whole team played well and played with energy, but they could not turn the game around to their advantage. The defense played focused and intense with Antonio Capelo, Ryan Day, Richie Markwarth, and Asa Derache on the front line. Mark Bradley, William Rosato, Justin Flynn, Aidan Leffler, Cameron Loder, and Stephen O’Hearn played hard defense, breaking through the offensive line. After being down 13 to zip and losing a fumble, the offense fought back with strong blocking from Lexi St Cyr, Tyler Paulding, Bobby O’Hearn, and Harry Walsh. The offense, Patrick Letourneau and Daniel Fleming were unyielding in their ability to move the ball out of the back field, and breaking through the Cheyenne’s defensive line, allowing.QB Shane Aylward to score two touchdowns and Aidan Doherty driving in an extra point.

Score: Mohawks 20 Comanche 6

With the crisp fall air creeping in, creating perfect football weather, the Mohawks had a solid game. Once again the team chemistry was undeniable. The offense came to play with QB Shane Aylward leading the team by completing an amazing 6 passes to the capable hands of Aiden Doherty and Patrick Letourneau. Aside from the passes, Shane Aylward, Aiden Doherty, Patrick Letourneau, and Richie Markwarth broke through the defense providing additional rushing yards. Patrick Fleming, Danny Fleming, Tyler Paulding, Lexi St Cyr, and Mark Bradley brought their game, creating much needed blocking. Playing as a team made it easier to break through the Comanche defense, resulting in Shane Aylward scoring 2 touchdowns and 1 extra point, and Richie Markwarth adding an extra point. The defense was on fire, with the highlights being a forced fumble by Ryan Day, a recovery by Aiden Doherty and tackles being made by many. Richie and Shane picked up 5 tackles, Antonio Capello and Patrick Letourneau with 3, Ryan Day with 2, and Aiden Doherty, Aiden Leffler, Asa Derache, Bobby O’Hearn, and Cameron Loder each with 1. In addition, Harry Walsh, Justin Flynn, Stephen O’Hearn, and William Rosato got through the Comanche line and caused much needed commotion. The Mohawks, as a team, pulled off their first win of the season.
