Wilmington Man Charged In Tewksbury Carjacking

Police say Jacob M. Strow brandished a pellet gun during Sunday's attempted robbery.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- A Wilmington man is facing multiple charges after a failed carjacking attempt in Tewksbury Sunday night.Police say Jacob M. Strow, 21, of 9 Allston Avenue in Wilmington, tried to rob and steal the car of a man in his 60s who was parked in the lot of the 7-Eleven at 2280 Main Street.

The victim and a passerby fought with Strow, police said, and Strow fled the scene. He was found and arrested a short time later close to where the incident had occurred, police said. At the time of his arrest, he had a pellet gun in his possession.

Strow was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of armed carjacking, armed assault with intent to rob a person over 60 years of age, assault and battery on a person over 60 years of age and attempt to commit a crime, to wit: armed robbery while being masked.
