Woman Says Two Dunkin' Employees Assaulted Her

The woman says the employees at the Dunkin' Donuts on Main Street in Tewksbury threw a box of doughnuts at her and punched her daughter.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Tewksbury Police have yet to determine whether or not charges will be filed following a Sunday morning incident in which a Lawrence woman claims two Dunkin' Donuts employees threw a box of doughnuts at her and punched her 12-year-old daughter. NECN is reporting that both mother and daughter were hospitalized with cuts and bruises following the incident at the Main Street Dunkin' Donuts, a portion of which was videotaped by the mother's boyfriend and broadcast by the cable news network.

"The safety and well-being of our guests is a top priority, and we expect everyone who enters a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant will be treated with courtesy and respect," the company said in a statement. "We have spoken with the restaurant’s franchise owner and understand he is currently conducting a thorough investigation of the incident."

The woman, who only gave her first name as Sharon to NECN, said she returned to the store after getting the wrong order. her daughter Hazel and Hazel's therapy dog were asked to leave. Sharon told NECN that two employees started using expletives and accused her of trying to get free food.

Sharon and Hazel said they yelled derogatory things back at the employees. The two say when Sharon's boyfriend turned off the recording to call police, one of employees struck Hazel in the mouth.
