WAKEFIELD, MA — The Wakefield Police Department has issued a warning to residents following a rash of recent car break-ins.
Police posted the following on Facebook:
Motor vehicle break-ins have been on the rise lately, and the biggest deterrent is simple: lock your vehicle doors.
Most of the break-ins reported in Wakefield have involved vehicles that were left unlocked.
Please remember:
• Lock your vehicle every time
• Do not leave valuables in plain sight
• Do not leave personal items in your vehicle
If you see anything suspicious, please call 911.
