The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, Inc. (TSF) is honored to announce the establishment of the Paul Haynes Memorial Fund. This fund, established by the Haynes family, honors Paul’s legacy by supporting students pursuing careers in the trades.
Paul Haynes grew up on Water Street in Wakefield and attended the Franklin School. After three years at Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School, he graduated from Reading High School. Paul spent more than 38 years at Power Products, where he built a reputation as a skilled and dedicated professional. Starting with work on diesel engines and transmissions, he advanced to become a Master Diesel Mechanic and road service technician. He traveled extensively, servicing boats—his favorite—as well as heavy equipment and trucks.
Paul spent many weekends working with Woods Tree Service, later known as Woodmaster Tree Service, where he was respected by both colleagues and supervisors. He believed strongly in the value of education and hands-on learning, continually expanding his knowledge through courses with Detroit Diesel and Allison Transmission. He also served as a trainer, sharing his expertise with others in the field. This fund will help provide education and training to others that Paul valued so highly.
The Paul Haynes Memorial Fund will become a permanent fund once it reaches a minimum balance of $10,000. Upon permanency, beginning the following June, an annual scholarship will be awarded in Paul’s memory to a Wakefield student.
Contributions to the Paul Haynes Memorial Fund are encouraged to help the fund grow to a permanent level. Donations can be made to TSF of Wakefield, P.O. Box 321, Wakefield, MA 01880.
