You are invited to the PAWS office on Saturday, October 3 to meet some adorable, adoptable kittens and cats. While there, make sure to check out the large number of affordable pet supplies in Esther's Nook, including toys, bowls, pet carriers, steps and wall-mounted cat climbing systems. We recently acquired a new car ramp for dogs.
The Meet & Greet event will take place from 10am until Noon at 411 Lowell Street, Wakefield. Two very young cats are confirmed as coming to the office, and at least three others will be available for visiting in their foster homes during those same hours. In addition to the descriptions provided below, you can read a short biographical write-up of PAWS's adoptable cats on the website, pawswakefieldma.org, and many of them have also been featured on the PAWS Facebook page.
Meeting PAWS kittens and cats, and the formalizing of adoptions can take place any day of the week, not just on Saturdays at the office. As kittens and young cats are usually in high demand, it's strongly recommended that one complete an adoption application before Saturday, so the adoption coordinators can start the vetting and matching process. The application can be found on the PAWS website. An adoption fee is only charged after a match is made and the cat or kitten is ready to go to its new home. By filling out an application now, adoption counselors can review the personalities and needs of its cats and compare that against the profile of the inquiring person or family. Since some of PAWS' cats only have their meet-ups in their foster home, rather than at the office, an application ensures that all adoption-available cats can be considered for a match, not just the ones who are brought to the office for a Meet & Greet event.
Come to the office to meet Titus, a handsome 1-year-old male with a long, lean, athletic build and a sweet, playful personality. This tabby is friendly, active, and always ready for playtime. He loves perching on high surfaces and windowsills, so he would thrive with a tall cat tree or wall-mounted perches. Not only does Titus enjoy being picked up and cuddled, he will often greet you by rolling over for chin and belly rubs. We believe Titus would be good as a solo pet or with another younger cat.
Dodgeball is a playful male kitten of 4 months who needs a buddy cat with the same energy. If you don't already have a kitten or young cat at home, consider pairing this adorable, all-black, short-haired kitten with another of PAWS' ready-to-be adopted felines.
In the office on Saturday, or by reaching out in advance, you can make an appointment to meet Annabella, Cannon or PF Flyer in their foster homes. Annabella is very sweet and loves to sit on your lap. This friendly female loves having her tuxedo coat brushed, thrives on human companionship and seeks a household with someone who is home often to give her the attention and affection she deserves. Annabella is 12 years old and needs to be a solo pet.
Cannon is a young male, who is predominantly white, but with distinctive large black splotches on his head and back. He is sweet, affectionate and a loyal companion, who simply wants to share your everyday life. Cannon will greet you at the door when you come home, follow you from room to room, and curl up next to you on the couch. Just over 2 ½ years old, he loves playing with his wand toy. PF Flyer, a 6-month old female, is a friendly kitten, though she can be shy. She shares a foster home with Cannon.
If you're a senior or simply someone who loves an older pet, please consider giving a home to one of our more mature cats, who are often experienced, excellent companions. In addition to seeing them through their golden years, you'll benefit from their reduced adoption fee – just $100 for cats who've already observed their 11thbirthday.
At the office, on the PAWS website and on its Facebook page you can learn about other PAWS' cats who are awaiting their forever homes, residing either in one of many foster homes or at the Kitty Cat Café and Adoption Lounge on Newbury St (Rte. 1), Peabody. Visitation details for the Café are on its website: kittycatcafema.com.
Before they are made available for adoption, all PAWS cats have had a vet examination, been spayed or neutered, received age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for feline leukemia, dewormed at least once, and microchipped. Other tests and procedures may have been provided, depending on their age and health status when they came into PAWS' care. Adoption fees vary, depending on the cat's age, and those fees are listed on the website. If you have questions about the adoption process or a particular cat, send an email to PAWS01880@gmail.com or leave a message on the 24-hour voicemail: 551-800-7297.
