• Baseball Adds 13 Newcomers to 2026-27 Roster (goriverhawks.com) — Wakefield baseball fans can cheer on hometown outfielder Ryan Moreschi, who just joined UMass Lowell's 2026–27 roster after a standout career at Austin Prep and top statewide rankings. He's one of 13 newcomers, including transfers and highly touted recruits from across New England and beyond, as the River Hawks reload for the upcoming season.
• 'The Woman' by Lucia Mancini (wordpress.com) — A former Wakefield resident, Italian immigrant and anarchist writer Lucia Mancini penned her influential 1911 essay "The Woman" while living in town, challenging the era's treatment of women and urging intellectual and social rebellion. Her story connects Wakefield to early 20th‑century radical politics, immigrant life, and grassroots theater that raised funds and awareness for the anarchist movement.
