1 Hospitalized After Dirt Bike, Car Collide Near Waltham School

The crash occurred near Kennedy Middle School, soon after class dismissal on Thursday.

WALTHAM, MA — Police are investigating a crash Thursday afternoon between a dirt bike and a car in North Waltham, injuring the operators of both.

As the rider of the gas-powered motorbike turned from College Farm Road onto Lexington Street, he collided with a car traveling southbound, police said in a statement late Thursday.

The intersection is less than a quarter-mile from John F. Kennedy Middle School. Police said the collision occurred around 2:37 p.m. – soon after the school’s classes ended for the day.

The dirt bike operator was a student at Kennedy, according to the Waltham Times.

He was taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries from the crash. The driver of the car was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
