11th Annual New Year's Day Walk at Prospect Hill Park

Join the Waltham Land Trust for a quick hike up Prospect Hill for amazing views of Boston on January 1.

Start off the new year on the right foot, outdoors and with friends! Meet at the South Gate of Prospect Hill, located near 184 Prospect Hill Road (park in the neighborhood) by 1 pm when we’ll take a group photo and depart. Attendees will start walking on the service road then have their choice of going up the Boston Rock Trail, which is very steep and climbs stairs, or continuing along the wide, paved road which is slightly less steep and takes a tad longer (dirt trail is about 1/2 mile, paved road is about 3/4 mile). At the top, you‘ll be amazed looking over the expanse of Waltham towards the Boston skyline. Stay for as long as you like, enjoying treats provided by the Waltham Land Trust, taking photos, and donating to Hooty the Owl. An optional hike will trek to the site of the controversial Antico communications tower on another summit in the park. Please wear appropriate shoes and dress for the weather. Call the WLT at 781-893-3355 or email swadman@walthamlandtrust.org with questions.
