20,000+ Mass. Residents May Be Entitled to 2013 Tax Refunds, Report Says

Who doesn't love getting money back?

MASSACHUSETTS – The Internal Revenue Service says about 23,000 Massachusetts residents may be able to claim 2013 tax refunds totaling millions, according to a Boston Business Journal report.

The deadline to file is this year, or they are surrendered to the U.S. Treasury. Unclaimed refunds are submitted to the Treasury after three years, Business Journal says.

Tax returns must be mailed by April 18. Those receiving a refund will not be penalized for filing a late return.

According to the Business Journal, the 2013 median unclaimed refund amount in Massachusetts is $838.
