School of Fashion Design

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Our reputation for excellence is on display each time our students show their work at fashion shows and exhibits throughout the year. With an SFD Certificate in Fashion Design, our alumni have enjoyed fashion careers with Adidas, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, New Balance, PUMA, Ralph Lauren, Talbots, Timberland, TJX Companies, and more. Our alumni are designers and costumers for stage and screen, while others have found success launching their own label. Our varied class levels and flexible schedules are designed to meet the needs and profiles of all students. Three $100,000 "Mass Cash" prizes were claimed Monday, five days before they were due to expire. The tickets, all sold at Fulcinitis Market in Waltham, were winners in the Aug. 31, 2018 drawing. The winners were claimed by GRT Nominee Trust of Peabody, represented by trustee Martin Scafidi. Fulcinitis Market received a $3,000 reward for selling the three tickets. Mass Cash winners expire if they go unclaimed for a year.

Three $100,000 "Mass Cash" prizes were claimed Monday, five days before they were due to expire. The tickets, all sold at Fulcinitis Market in Waltham, were winners in the Aug. 31, 2018 drawing.

The winners were claimed by GRT Nominee Trust of Peabody, represented by trustee Martin Scafidi. Fulcinitis Market received a $3,000 reward for selling the three tickets.

75,000+ Tulips for Display &amp; Pick-Your-Own The Garden at Elm Bank 900 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482 Plan your spring trip to one of Boston's closest tulip fields (less than 20 miles from Downtown!). Advanced purchase of timed tickets is required. Tickets are on sale for Thursday, April 23 through Sunday, May 3 Entries from 10am-5pm most days (10am-4pm on 5/2 and 5/3). Admission: $5 for MHS members $20 for Adults $10 for Kids (3-17) Children 2 and under are free Pick-Your-Own stems are included with paid tickets while supplies are available. Your best chance for a PYO experience is attending early! Pre-cut stems are available throughout the event. Pose for photos in the display-only area in the Trial Garden and take Tulip Mania home with you as pick-your-own stems (while available) or precut stems (available throughout the festival). See spring flowers throughout the Garden at Elm Bank with rows of daffodils in the Italianate Garden, fragrant Magnolias and Lilacs, decades-old Rhododendrons, and purple Alliums from April to May. On Saturday, May 2, MHS will celebrate World Labyrinth Day from 11am to 2pm. Guests are invited to step into a peaceful and meditative walk through the labyrinth accompanied by soothing wooden flute music by Brenda Fingold and John Gass. Through educational programming like Tulip Mania, Massachusetts Horticultural Society advances the art and science of horticulture to help people lead healthier and happier lives. MHS looks forward to welcoming thousands of guests to experience firsthand the joy of horticulture this spring and throughout the Garden Season (April 1-November 24, 2026).

The long, cold winter is finally behind us! Come celebrate spring with an evening of fantastic music by Rock Voices, Newton’s only community rock choir! Our 100+ members and a professional live band will perform hits by your favorite artists: The Beatles, Jimmy Cliff, Grateful Dead, Three Dog Night, Suzanne Vega, the Doobie Brothers, Crosby Stills Nash &amp; Young, Billy Strings, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Weepies, and more! We guarantee you’ll be humming when you leave the concert!
In keeping with Rock Voices’ mission of “healing ourselves and others through song,” a gift basket raffle at the concert will benefit the West Newton Cinema Foundation, supporting efforts to restore the historic 1937 art deco-style movie theater and create a revitalized focal point for film and culture in the community.

Explore fun hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math challenges throughout Camp Cedar Hill from local program partners. Participants will use a map to choose their adventure and which topics to explore. Meet and chat with STEM professionals while digging deeper into topics you love or discovering new ones you may not have known about!
STEM Fest is the premier STEM event of the year at Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. This event is open to ALL Girl Scout levels with activities and experiments created for different ages.&nbsp;
The event fee includes a collectible fun patch and STEM-themed giveaways. Check back regularly for an updated list of partners and activities!
Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts require volunteer supervision, while Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors have a drop-off option for this event.
