3 Things To Do In Waltham For MLK Day

WALTHAM, MA — If you're looking for a way to spend MLK Day, there are a number of events happening around the Watch City in honor of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Here's a little guide to get you started.

The ninth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Day of Service

This one will be held at Brandeis University from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m on Monday, Jan. 21.

The event will be held in the Levin Ballroom at 415 South St., at the Usdan Student Center, according to the Facebook event.

This year’s theme is “Continuous Giving,” and Kevin Peterson, founder of The New Democracy Coalition, will speak.

It's a day of service for many and so you can expect activities such as packing meals for the homeless and social justice discussions with University clubs and local nonprofits.

Workshops for the day include: Chaplains on Way – Spiritual Companioning, Prejudice or Empathy with CMM’s IFYI Program Director Shelton Oakley Hersey, Habitat for Humanity, Community Day Center of Waltham, with activities for younger kids too.

WATCH CDC's MLK Day of Service

WATCH CDC is hosting a day of workshops around sharing stories and learning to speak out for affordable housing in Waltham from 9:30 a.m. to 2 pm. Monday, Jan. 21 at the WATCH office, 24 Crescent St.
