WALTHAM, MA — In case you missed it, here are three things from a historic blaze in Waltham in the 1970s, to a talk about taking the hate out of debate that raced through our desk we think you shouldn't miss.

School is about to start, do you know your child's bus route?

If you child is in grades K - 8 and live more than one and one-half miles from school or is in grades 9 - 12 and you live farther than two miles from school, your child is probably taking the bus.

The mayor speaks out about hate

Mayor Jenneatte McCarthy will join Newton Mayor (and candidate for governor) Setti Warren, and a number of others at a talk that takes aim at figuring out how to take the hate out of debate early next month. The event is hosted by Regis Collge in Weston and the DeHate the Debate will be an open panel discussion examining tensions in daily dialogue, and exploring how we can calm the waters of everyday discourse.

Fire: 5 buildings destroyed, try 8

The State fire Marshall just released the details of what they believed caused a massive fire on Cooper Street. Police are on the look out for at least one suspect they believe set fire to the building and there's a hefty reward for anyone who provides info that leads to a conviction.
